Behind the song "Fight"

Have you ever found yourself in a fight you didn't ask for or a fight you didn't start?

Whether it is sickness, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, injuries, job loss, a past that sticks with you, etc. etc. etc.

A lot of times we don't ask for what life hands us, but here it is anyway like a solicitor on our front porch.

I don't know about you, but my first instinct is to ignore the main problem.

Let's pretent like it's not there, maybe it will go away.

I knew the anxiety was getting worse, but did not want to admit it and fix it so it grew and grew and grew until the moment it was either have a complete breakdown and self-destruction or to say "no more" and fight it.

That is where this song "Fight" came from. That nagging issue that I knew had to be dealt with. I didn't ask for this and if it had left me alone I would've been ok.

I didn't ask for this, but somehow this fight found me and got me to the place that I was.

I buried it so long it "festered till it was rank" and those "white flags of [surrender to the problem] didn't get me very far." (lines in the song.)

I want to encourage you to stop ignoring whatever it is that is hanging over your head and just finish it. Take the control of your life back piece by piece and allow Jesus to start the healing process needed- for whatever it is- he is able and by his strength you are able.
